Creating a honeyed tobacco note with milky undertones, the tonka bean absolute is derived from the fruit of the Dipterix odorata tree. The fruits are harvested just as they fall from the tree and undergo a drying process to allow the development of the coumarin molecule, that lends tonka its scent.
